A legal disclaimer

  • The visitor assumes all risks and danger incidental to the activity of hiking and camping in an outdoor environment, including, but not limited to, the danger of being injured by insects/animals, any “Act of God”(see below) and shall not hold Porcupine Hill Preserve or its associates (hereafter known collectively as PHP) liable for injuries or property damages resulting from such causes. (Act of God or natural occurrence shall mean a natural occurrence such as an earthquake, flood, lightning strike, tornado, hurricane, storm, tree limbs fall, or similar equally serious act or event which has a major cataclysmic impact or effect.)

  • The visitor assumes all risks and danger incidentally related to any defect in land or premises or property that resulted in injury.

  • Violation of any rule or state law is grounds for dismissal from the property without a refund.

  • No fireworks of any kind are permitted.

  • No hunting or foraging is permitted.

  • This property is privately owned and PHP associates reserve the right to refuse service to anyone as deemed necessary.

Terms & Conditions

  • Primitive Camp reservations require a 2-day minimum stay. 

  • Pets may or may not be allowed and are permitted on a per-case basis. Please contact us about pets. 

  • Absolutely NO Smoking allowed anywhere on the property.

  • Pack out everything you pack in.

  • No glass is permitted. 

  • Tent Camping is allowed in the designated tent sites only – 1 TENT allowed per site. Only small tents, up to an 8-person size is allowed, with a maximum of 6 guests per tent site.

  • No refunds for early departures once paid 

  • Rates are based on 2 adults and 2 children under age 17 only. Additional persons, up to a max total of 6 per site, will be a $10 additional fee each.

  • Unless restricted during drought periods, small campfires are permitted in the existing fire rings. Do not enlarge, move or otherwise modify the fire rings.

  • Campfire safety is paramount. Please be responsible and have a minimum of 1 gallon of water in close proximity "just in case." Be sure your fire is safely extinguished before departure.

  • Firewood may be purchased down the road at Red Rock General Store or other locations. Please do NOT break branches off of the trees.

  • All trash must be packed out with you. This includes toilet paper. Please leave the campsite area just as you found it. 

  • Only 1 vehicle per campsite is permitted and parking is at the bottom of the hill, just off the road.

  • When you make a reservation, you agree to pay all the fees and/or stated charges related to your reservation, including without limitation, booking fees, service fees.

  • When you make a reservation, you are forming an agreement directly with the PHP owners.

  • Any specific rules, regulations, and policies ("Rules") identified in the listing or during the checkout form a part of your agreement with PHP.

  • You are responsible for confirming that you, and anyone you invite, meet and comply with the Rules.

  • By agreeing to these Terms, you hereby give PHP permission to charge the approved method of payment for fees associated with your use of the booking service and/or Site.

  • All fees due and payable by you under these Terms must be paid in full without any deduction, set-off, counterclaim or withholding of any kind, unless required by law.

Rules regarding wildlife

  • Let wildlife be wild.

  • For everyone's safety, please do not approach wild animals.

  • Please do not disturb animal habitat. Stay on designated trails as much as possible.

  • Please be mindful of any food products you bring with you and store them safely to prevent opportunistic bears or raccoons from entering camping areas. This includes toothpaste and other aromatic non-food items.

  • Please do not remove, harvest or otherwise modify the ecosystem. This includes but is not limited to rocks, bones, plants or animals.
